Two of my passions in one place !!

Before going to the airport, I looked some weather radars and saw a few storms cells.
When I arrived on the third floor of the airport parking, the sky was fabulous!
Some cells were on the south side of Yul, and another one was on north, going to east.

North side

The storm was heading east
Nice contrast, a blue sky and a plane race...
To bypass the storm located at the east of Montreal, some landings were made on Rwy 28

Royal Air Maroc
Another storm is coming directly to YUL... These next pictures speak for themselves...

With this bad weather above YUL, I was thinking that's a ground stop was called, when I eard a terrific "Roar" from Trent engine trying to keep flying this AC-864 to London.
Note the doors of landing gears still open, and this A330 already made a sharp 90° th the left.
I never saw a departure like that...

Bad landing !!

This sequence show how the MD-11 is a hard airplane to land... Maybe a little scary inside, but a great opportunity for the photographer !

Interesting traffic!

Flight from Frankfurt is now upgraded to a B777 at place of an A330
US Airways with "Star Alliance livery"(N828MD). Later the same day, I can saw that's not the only plane with this theme...
Air Canada Jetz, with "U2" livery. (Sorry for the haze...)
I never saw an approach like that before...This Dash8-300 form Air Creebec was coming about 30m above the runway 24G, done a very sharp turn and landed on the runway 28...
I thing there were no passangers, and the crew decided to have fun!
The MD-11, always impressive!
I let you imagine the following scene...
AC0871 from Paris
N829MD, second US Airways
And never 2 without 3, AC Jazz with Star alliance livery
And finally, before leaving, I saw this Sea-King...

European heavy are sleeping at YUL...

These long haul are grounded since the European airspace is closed. This responsable of this block is the ash cloud produced by the volcano Eyjafjöll, better known as the "Islandic volcano" by the media... Don't know why...
